Twitter is a social network that was founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone in the USA and since then has become the most famous representative of so-called microblogging. Twitter allows registered users to write their own text messages with a maximum of 140 characters, which all other users can view. The posts on Twitter are called “tweets”, which means “chirping”. Writing tweets is called “Twittering”, which means twittering. As a user, it is possible to follow other users, while you can also win followers, who in turn follow your own tweets. The contributions of the people followed are displayed in a chronological list of entries, whereby the sender can decide for himself whether he wants to make his messages available to all users or restrict access to a group of friends.
